Learning at Co-op Academy Oakwood
Peregrine Class explored cams this week. They found out that circular movement (turning the handle) is transformed into vertical movement through the cam. We shall use this idea to make a moving toy later this term. Watch this space! Greenfinches have followed instructions to draw their own trolls and have been partitioning numbers into tens and ones.
Science Week
This week for British Science Week 2025, children across the academy explored the theme of “Change and Adapt”. EYFS explored changing shadows, KS1 tested different fabric absorption, LKS2 observed changes to rolling bottles, depending on the surface friction & UKS2 adapted marble runs to last as long as possible. The children were fully involved in science skills & made some great predictions, adaptations and observations. Well done to everyone involved in a very successful day!
Every moment matters
Being in school every day is essential for children. It helps them learn, grow and make friends. We have lots of exciting prizes to be won if your child comes into school every day.
